Can you disclaim an ira as beneficiary
i have a client with a sibling who is special needs. when their mother died she had an ira with him as 50% beneficiary. so not to disturb his government benefits, the estate attorney had her sibling disclaim the asset and as a result the money went to my client. I know you can disclaim nonqualified assets but can you disclaim an IRA?
Thanks in advance,
