inherited ira 2009 rmd suspension
Thanks for the answer on my last question…My question today is if a client inherited a qualified fixed annuity from her mother and we set up a stretch and signed a new policy with the new suspension on rmd’s for 2009, will she have the option to take the rmd or not

A stretch on an annuity usually means systematic withdrawals. The advantage here is that they can be accelerated, reduced or suspended, as long as they stay within the IRA stretch rules. With any stretch, the bene can always take more, just not less than the RMD, which is suspended at least for 2009.
