Madoff IRA theft
Lost everything in our IRA accounts which were invested with Madoff. trying to get information regarding filing theft loss on tax return, many many others suffering same loss. where do we turn for help? we know about the tax basis issue, but there must be a way to recover after tax evaluation somehow. We did work for this money, and would pay the taxes now if we had the opportunity to recover SOMETHING. You are the IRA guru.

[b]I know this may seem mundane, but I felt the need to respond as no else did. I work in the very industry that took away you dreams and I am ashamed for that reason and the fact that you never received one response to your question. The individuals as I have discovered that do reply are reputable people in the profession and I can only say that in there defense probably had no answer for you. The silence is almost worst then no words of empathy for the terrible financial tragedy. I work mainly with retirees and I know what a impact this would have on any one of my clients. I am sorry it is not in my scope of education to answer your question… maybe by reviving it someone will help. I just signed up as I also had a problem I needed assistance with. [/b]
