1) The consensus is that Congress will extend the 2009 provisions into 2010, ie the unified credit of 3.5mm. Then in 2010 they will address estate taxes for the longer term. No estate taxes in 2010 is highly unlikely to materialize.
2) Nothing serious yet, but Congress seems to address this type of issue as late in the year as possible. The recovery in the markets and critical need for tax revenue makes it rather unlikely that the RMD waiver will be extended for 2010.
