Best way to deal with HR Personel on Retirement By Outs.

I am currently working with an affiliated representative on an early retirement buy-out. The company is cutting some positions and is in need to retire some employees early. It is an opportunity for me and my affiliate to give workshops or even at minimum offer free consultations regarding their plan rollovers. Is there anyone out there that has done these before and that can give a little time on what to do and what not to do? I would like some guidance regarding dealing with the HR department or possibly the credit union. This needs to happen fast.
