Child beneficiary who has a Special Needs Trust
Parent left the IRA to the two children one of which he also established a Special Needs Trust for. How is that childs beneficiary IRA titled? As beneficiary to the child or to the Special Needs Trust of the child?

See the attached article about PLR 2006 20025. It would have been better to split the IRAs and leave one to the other child outright with the SNT as beneficiary of the other IRA. This may have avoided the self settled trust requirement of leaving the state as the remainder beneficiary. Laws may differ from state to state however, so I would check further before proceeding. Transfers made without adequate research in this case are probably impossible to reverse.
