Roth Coversion for client who is married filing seperately
Is a client married filing seperately able to do a roth conversion in 2010? If not, can he possibly be eligable if he and spouse had a diff address for the year? Thank you!

Yes, they can convert. After 2009 marital filing status is no longer a factor for Roth conversions. That said, the marginal tax rates are higher for this filing status, so the tax bill for the conversion will be higher than if the conversion was done with a different filing status.
Prior to 2010, a married/separate filer could only convert to a Roth if they did not live with their spouse at any time during the year.
