using the RMD for a charities – not taxed
Does anyone have an educated guess as to whether clients can send their RMDs directly to a charity and not pay taxes – like 2009? I have heard rumours that Congress would reinstate this for 2010 – or 2011?

The extenders bill is still alive, so there is always a chance the QCD will be extended for 2010 or even longer. But with politics as it is, there is no way right now to assume anything will get done. But keep your options open until December, because there is still a decent chance of extension.
