RMD for surving spouse
Husband and wife are/were in their 80s. Husband died 9/2009. Wife rolled IRA from husband into her IRA. My initial understanding is that we can calculate the RMD for 2010 for her, as if she owned her husband’s IRA at 12/31/2009 in addition to her own. Her IRA is a combination of both.

That is correct. Unfortuneatly, the IRS Regs get to this conclusion in a very convoluted manner.
