SIMPLE IRA’s; time frame for contributions

We recently had a client that holds a SIMPLE IRA plan for their employees, deposit a check that included employer matching PLUS the monthly salary reduciton contribution from the employee for the entire year of 2010. It caught my eye as I was under the impression that employee “salary reduction contributions” for 401k plans had to be invested within 15 after the end of the month the funds were withheld from the employee. My assumption is that this would be the same for SIMPLE IRA’s. Am I correct?

See “SIRA Contribution deadline” January 31.
