Roth IRA when working outside USA
I have a cient who works as a teacher in Guatamala. She does not pay US income tax.( I assume becasue of an exlcusion)
Can she set up a Roth IRA?

Income excluded by the foreign earned income exclusion or the foreign housing exclusion is not earned income for IRA contribution purposes. Perhaps she has some other earned income from US sources when she is not teaching that she could use. Or perhaps a spousal contribution if married using spouse’s US income?
