SARSEP

Hello:

Does anyone know if a businees that sponsors a SARSEP is sold, can a new owner continue it. Unfortunately, I do not have more details, but I would think that if a new TAX ID is used and/or different type of business (name, etc.) the answer is NO?

Can’t locate anything directly on point, but you are probably correct if there is 100% change in ownership and new Tax ID. Might be one to call the IRS for confirmation.

Possibly, the SARSEP was out of compliance anyway. 25 max employees with 50% participation requirement.
