delay part of RMD?

If I have an IRA and a 403b, can I take the RMD from my IRA this year, and defer taking the RMD from my 403b until next year (before April 1st), if I turned 70.5 this year? In other words, do I have to take both, or defer both?
Thanks.

Yes. You can defer one and not the other if you wish with respect to the first RMD distribution year. IRA and 403B RMDs are independent and cannot be aggregated with each other.
