Don’t Like Ed’s New Site

I sure don’t like the recently updated site in comparison with the old. IMO it is a big step backward.

Like you I often long for the “good old days” but apparently this system is easier to maintain than the previous one. Progress is difficult sometimes.

How do you find posts sent by only my user name? Thanks,Nick

To find posts by your username you would enter your username in the ‘search’ text area at the top-right of the page, directly below the header.  This will give you a list of the topics you have posted in.

How can I mark certain or all new post as read? Tom D.

I would like to bring this back up again to see if anyone can provide an answer.  Is the any way to mark one or all messages as read without opening each one? Thanks, Tom D.

I am bumping up to see if I can get a response from a poster or from an admin associated with this site. Tom D.

Bump,Tom D.

Is there an IRA help administrator at Ed’s site available that can answer my question posted a month and a half ago?

Agree with you Tom — this new setup is a step backwards! Can’t figure out how to just go onto the NEXT topic without going back to list of topics. There must be an ADMINISTRATOR because yesterday there were many spam Topics on this discussion board that have since been removed.  Also there is an entry on this Topic from an admin on 1-7-13 answering someone else. Wish the Administrator would review this Topic and answer your question about marking topics read without opening each one and how to move to the next topic without going back to the list.  Maybe these issues are unable to be accomplished with the new setup, but surely an Administrator could answer that.

As far as I am aware there isn’t a way to mark posts as ‘read’.I do not believe there is a ‘next topic’ or ‘previous topic’ function, either – I would suggest opening topics in new tabs and then closing them when done and going to the next.  This does not recreate the ‘previous’ or ‘next’ post functionality, however it may help with your forum browsing.
