I have had 2 or 3 clients tell me that they heard that the government may make changes to the 401(k). Have anyone heard anything about that?

There are dozens of ideas being floated, most of which will never see the light of day. One debate is the amount of deferrals that can be deducted by the participant or matching contributions that can be deducted by the employer. These deductions all add up to huge “tax expenditures”. Any proposal is bound to encounter an army of lobbyists disputing it. It’s impossible to tell what the chances are for any such proposals.
