SEP Contribution for a deceased individual
A SEP IRA owner (sole owner and participant in the plan) was alive for all of 2012. Owner passed away in early 2013 prior to making their 2012 SEP IRA contribution. The surviving spouse is the sole beneficiary of the estate and the SEP IRA. She would like to make a 2012 SEP IRA contribution on behalf of her husband.
Can this be done? I don’t think so, but can’t find anything in the code specifically prohibiting it.
