Non Governmental 457(b) account transfer
All,
I know 457 accounts aren’t usually discussed on this forum. I am hoping someone is somewhat familiar with these accounts to answer what I belieive is a simple question.
Can a former employee transfer his/her non profit 457(b) account to a new employer’s non profit 457(b)plan upon separation from service? I am aware this is a permitted transaction in a gov’t 457. I am receiving conflicting information for non profit 457(b) accounts.
Thank you in advance

A non govt 457 plan can be tranferred post severance to another non govt 457 plan if that plan will accept transfers:http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p4484.pdf
