QCD and rmds
On 12/9/13 I requested a QCD be made. (It represents my first RMD for 2013.) The QCD was taken from my IRA account at the close of business on that date. A check payable to the charity and sent to me takes 5 to 7 business days. Can I take the remainder of my RMDs for 2013 now, or do I have to wait until I receive the QCD and mailit to the charity?

I think that the QCD request was your first distribution of any kind in 2013, but was less than your 2013 RMD. If you know that check has been deducted from your IRA account, you can request the rest of your RMD right away.
