IRA & 401K MINIMUM DISTRIBUTIONS
AFTER I CALCULATE MY MINIMUM DISTRIBUTIONS FROM MY 401K AND IRA PLANS. CAN I TAKE THE COMBINED MINIMUM FROM EITHER MY 401K OR IRA AND STILL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW? OR DO I HAVE TO KEEP THEM SEPARATE?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION TO THIS REQUEST.

You must calculate and distribute your 401k and IRA RMDs separately. They cannot be combined. If you have more than one IRA account however, you can combine your IRA RMDs with other IRA account RMDs. Inherited IRA RMDS cannot be combined with IRA RMDs for accounts you are the original owner.
