keogh transfer
can a Keogh be transferred into a traditional IRA.
can a Keogh be transferred into a traditional IRA.
Yes, or to a SEP IRA or Roth IRA.
Can’t a person that has a Keogh that is born on or before January , 1936 still do the 10 year forward average for a distributution from a Keough? An if they can, than I would not rollover but take a lump sum and pay the tax!
The 10 year option still exists and a Keogh is a qualified plan for which the option applies. Be sure you know all the other requirements to utilize this option to your advantage vrs doing a rollover.

A Keogh plan can be transferred to a traditional IRA but the Keogh RMD cannot be. So if the Keogh participant is taking RMDs and wants to transfer the balance to an IRA, the RMD should be taken first. If the transfer is intended to terminate the Keogh plan; a final Form 5500-EZ must be filed. This is true even if the plan assets never reached $250K.
