Inherited Roth IRA Retitling

I am in the process of setting up a Roth IRA account at my new bank. I am a widower and want to ensure that, upon my death, my non-spousal beneficiaries (my three children) will be able to correctly retitle my IRA so that they will receive annual tax-free distributions for their lifetime. I have read that the best retitling wording for this is: “John Doe (deceased xx/xx/xx) Roth IRA, For the Benefit of John Doe, Jr, beneficiary. “ However, my new bank says their inherited Roth retitling wording is: “John Doe, Jr as beneficiary of John Doe.” They will set up a new account for each of my three children and use this wording. Is the bank’s wording sufficient to ensure that my abovementioned goal is met? Thank you.

You do not need to worry about the details of the inherited Roth IRAs title.  Each IRA Custodian can have their own slight variation and arguing over this to have them change what is probably a part of their procedures is not worth the effort, and unneccessary.

And they will not change it anyway!
