401k to Roth 401k incactive employee
If a person is retired but has kept the 401k plan with the employer(no ira transfer) can she convert money inside the plan to Roth 401k?
Or is it simply up to the plan to allow this or not?

The plan may or may not allow an in plan Roth rollover, although a retired person would be much better off to convert to a Roth IRA because of it’s more favorable tax rules including being able to recharacterize Roth rollovers.
