IRA check lost in the mail
If an IRA contribution check is lost in the mail and doesn’t get deposited by the tax filing deadline, does the IRS offer any relief?

None that I know of. The postmark rules apply, so if the loss is temporary and the check shows up 2 weeks late but postmarked by the tax due date, the custodian should accept the contribution.
