spouse beneficiary
I have a client who’s husband passed away age 57, she turns 59 1/2 next April. She has indicated that she may need some money so we were going to transfer into a decedent IRA to make withdrawals without the 10% penalty. Are we able to then transfer to her as spouse once she reaches 59 1/2. Thanks.

Yes, the spousal rollover can be done anytime. The challenge is to do it at the right time.
