403b and 457b maximum annual deferrals

I have a client who is a university employee. Client is wanting to contribute $36,000 to the 457 plan under the 3 year catch up provision and contribute $24,000 to the 403b plan using the 50 and over catch up. I’m aware that deferrals do not have to be coordinated between these two plans. However, I’m unsure if it is permissible to use both catch-up provisions at the same time.
