Roth IRA Limit

I work for two different employers and both offer Roth 401K option. Does the limit of 18000 per year based on each employer or is it limited to a max of 18000 total plus an additional 6000 if over 50 years of age?
Please clarify.
Thanks

  • The $18,000 plus $6,000 catch up limit is a per-individual total limit, not a per employer limit.  You must take the necessary steps to make sure that your combined total between the two employers does not exceed the limit.
  • Certainly you’ll want to split the $18,000 plus catch-up between the two employers in a way that maximizes any employer matching contributions.
