Spouse inheriting an inherited IRA
Not sure what to do with this…
Wife has inherited her husband’s inherited IRA- to be clear….husband inherited the IRA from his father, husband is now deceased, wife inherits the previously inherited IRA. Is she considered a successor beneficiary and do all 3 people need to be listed in account titling, or as spouse would she possibly be able to combine these funds in her own IRA as if they were always her own?
Thanks for any help!

Yes, she is a successor beneficiary that must continue the RMD schedule of her deceased husband. She cannot roll this over to her own IRA because her husband did not own the IRA. The IRS recommends that in this situation the IRA should be titled showing her name as beneficiary of husband (name). The father can drop off the title.
