Solar tax credit for 2017 (federal)

While this question isn’t directly an IRA retirement question, it affects how much I will contribute to IRA’s and my retirement funds in general. So hopefully someone can answer my questions.

I’m thinking of going solar on my residence in 2017. However, I’m concerned about the Trump administration’s position on renewable energy and the federal residential energy tax credit, which in 2016 was entered on Form 1040 line 53. It offers a 30% credit on installation.

Specific Questions:
What is the position of Trump and the Republicans as to the federal residential energy tax credit?

These require a crystal ball, but I’m asking anyway:
What is the likelihood that Trump or the republicans will attempt to eliminate the federal tax credit?
If so, that they will succeed?
If so, that the credit will be eliminated for 2017?

Thanks.
