WHFIT

My IRA which had no distributions received what looks like a 1099 (not a 1099-R). The form contains Supplementary Gain or Loss information, and states that it is not reported to the IRS. The IRA holds GLD and also included a Supplementary Statement – Widely Held Fixed Investment Trusts (WHFIT).

Was my custodian correct in issuing this 1099?



This should not be issued for an IRA. I have some GLD in my IRA and have never received such a form from Schwab,
