IRA Beneficiary??
This has probably been asked before. A person has a Roth IRA with parents named 50:50 as beneficiaries. When that person marries does the spouse ever receive an automatic beneficiary designation or must that person always have to add them as a sole or shared beneficiary?

The new spouse does not automatically replace any prior beneficiaries. The IRA must be changed by the IRA owner. Note that qualified plans have different rules, basically making the spouse the automatic beneficiary either immediately or after 1 year unless the new spouse signs a waiver.
