tax question
hello i married about four months ago,he wants to file our tax return as married. he says we will save money. i want o file seperately. i dont make enough income to file . what is best to file together or not ?. what about next year if i file together would i have to file married again or not? i need advice thanks so much

For your 2018 return, your choices are filing jointly or married filing separately (MFS). In the vast majority of cases filing jointly will produce the lowest total tax bill, but if one spouse has back due taxes the decision becomes complicated. The filing status can be changed from year to year depending on circumstances. If a prior year return is to be amended, the filing status can be changed from MFS to joint, but not from joint to MFS.
