I’m aware of the ability of a beneficiary of a SGLI (Servicemember group life insurance) to roll the benefit into a ROTH IRA account within one year of having received the benefit. I’ve been unable to confirm that the same can or can not be done with the benefit received as a VGLI (Veterans Group Life Insurance) beneficiary. I currently have a VGLI beneficiary that would benefit, but I don’t want to advise him incorrectly. Of course it would make sense, but that is not the standard. Anyone know if VGLI gets the same benefit?
