Any chance 10 year period will begin in 2025?
RMDs for inherited IRA’s were waived for 2022,2023,and 2024. Is there any chance that the start of the 10 year spend will commence in 2025 and not the date of death?
Who can I call to lobby for this regulation revision??

No chance that the 10 year rule would be extended, as the annual RMD waiver is totally unrelated to the 10 year rule outer limit date. In fact, the IRS is depending on the waived RMDs to all be recovered over the remaining years after the waiver years. If a taxpayer was concerned about concentrating distributions over fewer years due to the waiver, they should have taken voluntary distributions in the waiver years to spread the income over 10 years rather than fewer years.
