Survivor Social Security Benefit if Remarried to a Public Servant

A widow was eligible for a surviving spouse benefit from a deceased husband.

The widow remarries after she turns 60 years old.

The widow is now married to a firefighter who is covered be a public pension, but has not paid into the Social Security system.

Is the wife eligible to claim her surviving spouse’s benefit based on her dead husband’s work record, even though she is remarried? And does the fact that the new husband is a public servant affect this?

Sorry, but you may not get a response here, as this site does not deal with SS benefits.
