Can Existing 401k take advantage of auto enroll credit

Can an existing solo-K or 401k take advantage of the $500 credit for auto enrollment if it is installed in the plan after the plan has been in existence longer than 5 years?

Yes.

But the plan will have to be amended to include auto enrollment, and that will trigger an amendment fee. Seems odd that an “eligible employer” would include a sole K owner, but apparently it does.

Appreciate the help

I do have one other question as it relates to this. It would be my suspicion that the amendment being put in place now, would make the credit applicable to 2025, and not 2024

Yes, 2025.
