Roth IRA Withdrawal- not 59 1/2
A client wants to withdraw funds from their Roth IRA. They are under 59 1/2 and the account is four months shy of its five-year aging requirement. Can they withdraw contributions penalty-free, or must they wait until the five-year period is met?”

Regular contributions and conversions can be withdrawn tax free anytime. However, prior to 59.5 the taxable portion of a conversion done within the last 5 years will be subject to the 10% penalty.
