Non-designated beneficiary post secure act
T-IRA owner passes away in 2020
Estate is the named beneficiary
Does the five-year rule apply? did the secure act make changes to non-designated beneficiary payout rules?
Thx

There are no changes to the NDB RMD requirements. The 5 year rule still applies to deaths prior to the RBD and the remaining LE of the IRA owner to deaths post RBD. The executor can still assign the inherited IRA to the estate beneficiaries, who must then continue the RMD requirements that applied to the estate.
