Inherited IRA distributions by beneficiary

If you took a distributions from your IRA in 2020, under certain conditions you could put it back without any tax effects. Question: if you took a distribution from an Inherited IRA as its beneficiary in 2020, could you have been the same thing? That is put back the distribution without tax effect. (The taxpayer got a 1099-R with a distribution code 4.)

They could have, but only up to the amount what would have been an RMD were it not for the CARES Act.  The deadline for doing so was the August 31, 2020.
