A new client advised ,that he just received a distribution check from his mom;s IRA account.
His mother is deceased for 10 Years now and asked ,if he can now deposit the check into an Inherited IRA account?

Payable to Mom? Her IRA was never retitled into a beneficiary IRA? Who is the beneficiary listed on the IRA account, and why was the check issued by the custodian?
