Beneficiary of a Beneficiary IRA

This can get confusing, so I am double checking.

A client inherited an IRA from his sister several years ago.
He just died. His dob was 1/19/1945.
His wife is his beneficiary. Her dob 1/16/1949.
He did not take the 2022 RMD yet, so after the account transfers she will need to take his 2022 RMD if I remember correctly.
For 2023 and after, does she get the 10 year rule from his date of death(I hope) or does she have to continue taking based on his RMD schedule ?

Yes, she will have to complete his 2022 beneficiary RMD after the account is retitled. She becomes subject to a new 10 year rule in which there are no annual RMDs, but she must drain the account by 12/31/2032. His wife cannot assume ownership or roll this over to her own IRA because husband was a non spouse beneficiary.
