401K Beneficiary
What occurs when a 401K beneficiary predeceases the 401K account owner? Does the retirement account transfer to the estate of the 401K account owner or transfer to a living child of the deceased 401K beneficiary? Does this vary by state?

It varies by plan. If the decedent is not married, their estate may be the most likely beneficiary. Check with the plan administrator.
