Will There Be A New Age For Beginning IRA RMD’s ?

Just recently I’ve read that there is a good possibility that congress will enact a raise of the beginning RMD age to 75, after the election but before the end of 2022. I assume this would apply retroactively to 1-01-22
Previously I had read that raising this age would happen in steps and would begin later this decade.
I know I am speculating but if this revision were to occur, what happens to those turning age 72 in 2022 that have already taken their RMD for 2022 ?

Your last question is the key, and because many who reach 72 this year will already have taken their RMD, most likely the final result will only increase certain RMD ages starting in 2023, not 2022.
