Trust as IRA beneficiary — account titling
If someone has their trust named as beneficiary of their IRA, what actually happens with the account titling upon death? Does the IRA get titled as, “Inherited IRA owned by John Doe’s trust”? Obviously, you’re not able to have a trust own the IRA while living, but what actually happens upon death logistically?

Titling will conform to the custodian’s processing platform support. Most likely, it would be “(name of trust) dated xx/xx/xxxx as beneficiary of John Doe” or similar.
