QCDs

I’m planning to take one QCD with monies from my 3 accounts. However, one of the 3 accounts is from an inherited IRA. Am I allow to do that, or do I have to make a separate QCD for the inherited IRA?

  • As long as you are at least 70.5, you can make QCDs from both your own IRAs and your inherited IRA. RMDs can be combined for your owned accounts, but a separate RMD and separate QCD check must be issued if you want to donate from your inherited IRA as well. Remember to complete your QCDs before you complete your RMDs if you want all the QCDs to offset RMD taxable income.
