RMD for Inherited RMD under the new rules

Question: mom passed in 2020 and daughter inherited her mom’s IRA. Under the new rules, the daughter has 10 years to empty the account but my question is does the daughter have to take annual RMDs throughout the 10 years? Or no? Please advise. Thank you!

IRS proposed Regs would require annual RMDs, but only if mom passed on or after her RBD. But the IRS has also waived these RMDs for 2021 and 2022, so there is no need for daughter to take a distribution this year  unless she wants to. If the Regs are finalized as proposed, daughter will likely have to start annual RMDs in 2023 if mom passed after RBD.
