QLAC distributions count toward IRMAA, right?
I had someone tell me last night that “QLAC distributions don’t count toward your IRMAA Medicare surcharges,” and I think this person is confused.
The delay in income from the QLAC will potentially help you avoid IRMAA surcharges triggered by RMDs on really large IRAs for several years, but once the QLAC starts kicking out payments, that income counts toward IRMAA thresholds just like any other IRA distribution, correct?

Yes, you are correct. There are no subtractions from tax return AGI with respect to IRMAA.
