HSA Contribution Limit
I have a married couple that are clients. Both are age 60.
Wife is covered by a HDHP through her employer. Individual plan with HSA.
Husband and their son are covered by a HDHP through his employer. Family plan with HSA.
The aggregate 2023 HSA contribution between both husband and wife is still $9,750 ($7,750 for family plus their catch-up contributions of $1,000 each), not $13,600 ($7,750 family (husband and son) + $3,850 individual (wife’s plan) + wife catch-up of $1,000 + husband catch-up of $1,000).
Is my understanding correct?

Correct. Because both are eligible to contribute to an HSA and husband is covered by a family HDHP, wife is also treated as if wife is covered by a family HDHP. The contribution limit for 2023 is $7,750 split between the two spouses and each spouse who is age 55 or over in 2023 can contribute an additional $1,000 to their own HSA.
