60 day rollover from an inherited IRA
Dear Alan et al,
I have a client who has an inherited IRA- she inherited this IRA from her father last year. She’s interested in taking a withdrawal from the account as a form of a short-term loan and returning the cash into the inherited IRA within 60 days. Is this permissible from an inherited IRA the same way that it is from a Traditional IRA?
Thank you,
Chris

Distributions from an inherited IRA to a non-spouse beneficiary are not eligible for rollover, so any amounts distributed to a non-spouse beneficiary are not permitted to be put back.
