Social Security Benefits – Deceased Spouse

I know this is not IRA related but thought I would put this out there for suggestions.
A female turning 60 is eligible to collect benefits from her deceased spouse from social security. If she does so, can she switch to her max benefit at age 70? Her benefits will be higher than his are.
Is there a resource to get this answer from?
Thanks All!

The short answer is Yes, you can do that.  just remember that the survivor benefit is set based on whether your deceased spouse passed before or after reaching his FRA AND it is also adjusted due to you filing at 60.  There are a few websites out there to confirm this:  AARP, Terry Savage, Kiplinger.  Good luck
