inherited ira
Husband has an inherited ira from mother. Husband dies and did not name spouse as beneficiary. How do you get it out of estate? Would like spouse as beneficiary.

Tom is correct.
Even when an IRA agreement has a default spousal beneficiary for the owner (depositer), that does not necessarily carry over to also apply as the default beneficiary for a beneficiary that fails to name a successor beneficiary. Fidelity Investments is an example of the above, as their agreement has the spouse as default for the owner, but the estate as default for a successor beneficiary.
